Enrichment activities

Whilst in the Sixth Form, our students are offered many opportunities to develop the personal skills which will stand them in good stead in their future careers. In tandem with our Truly Educated programme they can take part in the nationally recognised Young Enterprise, Engineering Education and Duke of Edinburgh's Award Schemes. Students in our Sixth Form also have the opportunity to work towards an EPQ (Extended Project Qualification - much prized by universities) and to study Sociology at AS Level.

The biennial opportunity to spend four weeks on a World Challenge expedition (trekking in Malawi in 2018, Myanmar in 2016, along the Silk Route in 2014 and climbing volcanoes in Nicaragua in 2012), also offers our students the opportunity to challenge themselves mentally and physically and develop skills which are not always brought out in the classroom.  Our World Challenge team will be heading off for Bolivia in 2020!

Equally important are the opportunities for service to the school community. The Head and Deputy Head Girls as well as the House and Deputy House Captains have responsibilities for organising sport, music, drama and other events in the school. With the other school prefects they also learn leadership skills and play a significant part not only in the day-to-day running of the school but also in the pastoral structure of the school, guiding, advising and helping younger students.
