This week has been Anti-Bullying week, with the theme “One Kind Word”. It was wonderful to see the array of odd socks pupils were wearing on Monday, starting off the week so positively.


On Thursday, assembly was taken by a group of Year 9 students who performed some lovely sketches and discussed how important it is to stamp out bullying.

We finished the week with all the children dressing up in support of Children in Need. So many wonderful outfits, this is always a lovely day each year.



A reminder that next week we have an inset day on Thursday 25th November and Exeat on Friday 26th November. The exeat gives everyone the opportunity to recharge batteries ready for the busy final weeks of the term.

The School Council Friendship Bookmark Competition

Thank you to all the children who took the time to create a bookmark for the School Council Friendship Bookmark Competition. There were 45 entries from year groups throughout the school and the standard was very high.

Judging was incredibly difficult and needed the skills of the whole council as well as Mr Harper. The judging panel managed to create a short list of 5.


The runner ups in the competition were Aarav (3rd place) and Amal (2nd place). The overall winner in first place was Rhia.

Each of the shortlist designs will be turned into a bookmark and everyone in the Primary School will be able to choose one to use.

Primary Tea Time Concert

This week we filmed our second Primary Tea Time Concert. Once again Mrs Cooke was absolutely delighted with all the performers who worked so hard on their solo performances.

The National Sleep Helpline 03303 530 541

The National Sleep Helpline helps anyone with sleep issues including adults, parents and young people. The helpline is available from 7pm and 9pm, Sunday to Thursday on 03303 530 541.

Poor sleep can affect anyone and it can be a major stress for parents whose own sleep can be impaired by their children's difficulties getting to sleep, staying asleep or staying in their own bed, leading to greater stress.

Having a sleep issue is surprisingly common. At any given time this affects up to 40% of adults and 50% of children (this rises to 80% with a SEND diagnosis). These problems are typically persistent and do not resolve themselves without intervention.

Families often don't know where to seek help and yet issues can often be nipped in the bud with basic and accessible interventions.
